New School Year Welcome

Welcome to a brand-new school year at Foster Elementary! I am honored and excited to serve as your new principal, and I look forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, and community. We are so excited to have your child join us for what promises to be a year filled with learning, growth, and excellence.

 

Our theme for this year is "Challenge Accepted… Excellence Expected!" — a reminder that together, we can rise to any challenge and set high expectations for every student, every day. I believe that the foundation for student success is built through a true partnership between school and home, and I invite you to be an active part of your child’s educational journey. Whether it’s volunteering, joining family events, or simply reinforcing learning at home, your involvement makes a lasting difference.

 

Together, we will ensure that every student at Foster Elementary is supported, celebrated, and inspired to reach their full potential.

 

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

• Doors open at 7:00 AM. Please do not drop students off before this time, as staff will not be available to supervise.
• Pre-K Students: Enter through Door 15 on Ward Street (former Head Start entrance). Staff will greet students and guide them to their Pre-K area.
• Daycare, Car Riders & Bus Riders: Enter through bus ramp doors (cafeteria entrance on Driftwood Street).
• Walkers (K-5): Wait at the front entrance (Door 1) until doors open at 7:00 AM, then proceed to your grade-level waiting area.

 

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

Dismissal begins at 3:00 PM.

• Pre-K & Kinder: Exit through Door 15 (Ward Street) Head Start Center Entrance.
• 1st–2nd Grade Walkers: Exit through Door 1 (front entrance).
• Car Riders, Daycare & Bus Riders:

o   Pick up at same location of drop off — Enter through bus ramp doors (cafeteria entrance on Driftwood Street).

• • Car Riders: Students will be called and escorted to their cars.

• 3rd–5th Grade Walkers: Exit through the courtyard gate near the playground to Sherwood Street.
• Siblings: Students picking up younger siblings will go to the designated sibling pick-up doors:

• • Door 15 for Pre-K & Kinder siblings.
  • Door 1 for 1st & 2nd Grade siblings.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

• Always follow the traffic flow and staff directions during drop-off and pick-up.
• Have your student’s temporary dismissal tag/label visible for staff.
• Please do not walk up to the car rider line to pick up your child — use the designated areas.
• For your child’s safety, changes to dismissal arrangements must be made before 2:00 PM.
• Pack your patience.
