Welcome to Foster Elementary

Dear Marcellus E. Foster Elementary School Community,

As a military child who traveled around the world and attended many different schools, I learned early the importance of finding a sense of belonging and feeling at home wherever you are. Each school I attended became more than just a place of learning—it became a community where I could feel safe, supported, valued, and connected. It is this same sense of belonging that I want every student at Marcellus E. Foster Elementary School to experience each day. Every child who walks through our doors should know that they are welcomed, valued, supported, and an important part of our Foster family.

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I serve as the principal of Marcellus E. Foster Elementary School. I am deeply committed to our district’s mission and honored to have the opportunity to lead and serve this wonderful school community. My educational journey, including continuing my education at Prairie View A&M University, has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and passion necessary to inspire, support, and advocate for students, staff, and families.

With 24 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, instructional coach at both the campus and district levels, and school leader. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief that students thrive when they are surrounded by high expectations, high-quality instruction, meaningful relationships, and adults who genuinely believe in their ability to succeed.

As principal, I am committed to fostering a culture of excellence where academic achievement, student growth, collaboration, and a strong sense of community remain at the heart of everything we do. I believe that educating children is a shared responsibility, and I look forward to working hand-in-hand with our teachers, staff, families, and community partners to ensure every student is nurtured, challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Guided by a strong commitment to equity and the development of the whole child, I approach leadership with a student-centered focus. My goal is to ensure that every Foster Bear has access to high-quality instruction, a safe and caring learning environment, and meaningful opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we will help our students develop the confidence, character, knowledge, and skills necessary to become successful learners and future leaders.

I am excited about all that we will accomplish together at Marcellus E. Foster Elementary School. Through strong partnerships, high expectations, and an unwavering belief in our students, I know we can create a school community where every child has the opportunity to Believe, Excel, Achieve, Rise, and Succeed.

Together, I pray that we will equip our Foster Bears with the tools, knowledge, courage, and confidence they need to succeed today, tomorrow, and well into the future.
